Monoprints
Monoprints are one-of-a-kind, uneditionable prints. While they are, in a sense, prints of paintings, they require and dictate a spontaneity and directness unique to the technique.
My oil paint monoprints are not so much reproductions of nature as they are nature itself: the physical and chemical qualities of the media, the surface and the process mimic the physical and chemical qualities of the landscape. Surface tension, capillary action, viscosity, pressure, flow and time are all factors in my monoprinting process. Planning is almost impossible and surprises are constant!
